It’s DeVon,
aka Tacocasso, aka Ya Auntie’s Favorite Artist!
I’m a contemporary visual artist from South Carolina. My catalogue primarily consists of fully rendered portraits, but I’m also well-versed in a variety of disciplines like landscapes and relief sculptures. I work with a diverse array of mediums such as (but not limited to) acrylic paint, graphite, charcoal, and ink.
My work is primarily inspired by references of pop culture and universal themes such as love and unity. I also use my gift to speak to my experiences as a Black man and celebrating our rich culture. I have been in the art field for over 15 years, among them acquiring formal instruction with a BFA from Winthrop University.
Throughout my time in the game, I’ve been blessed to be able to participate in numerous galleries, teach many art classes, and get my art into hundreds of homes. My main aim with my craft is to inspire and bring joy. Everything I create comes from a place of love, cultural significance, and consciousness; it’s my hope that the viewer will arrive at similar conclusions as well.
